Oh, I see, it’s going to be that kind of day.
How tired am I? I made a comic last night and forgot to upload it. And then I didn’t notice until 3:15 pm. Sad.

My legs ached for about four days after the fire alarm at the hotel, which didn’t surprise me at all because my body’s not real hot on workouts without stretches, especially adrenaline-fueled workouts.
But when I realized that my muscles were all feeling pretty good and my hip joint was actually getting worse, I thought maybe I might have to see a doctor. And when I realized that I couldn’t comfortably put my own socks on in the morning and I needed Nighthawk’s help, he decided I did in fact need a doctor.
So I’m seeing an orthopedist now, who believes I screwed up my back and it’s in turn screwing with the nerves that run into my hip. He sent me to an excellent physical therapist who agrees, and says my sacroiliac joint has gone all wonky (though obviously not in those words. And I tell you that just because sacroiliac is such a fun word to say (or type).
But sitting at a desk (especially when I get paid to do so all day every day) is no picnic, and it’s forced me to ration comic and posting time. I need the strength to spend at work. Fortunately, the internet is still overflowing with idiocy, so we will still have some kind of update whenever I can sit at the computer. Like tonight.
Only now I’m all achy again, so goodnight.
Chance has some kind of stomach bug or something — he’s been off-and-on puking with the runs for about four days, and the particularly emphatic projectile vomiting he did at 2:00 am pretty much sealed his fate for a trip to the vet tonight.
She rehydrated him, put him on a bland diet, and told us to bring in a stool sample as soon as we could. And one for Kaylee too, since whatever it is could be contagious. Whee, stored poop.
As if that wasn’t enough fun, I also let myself get distracted while driving (Chance was attempting to swan dive across the car) and bumped an SUV in front of me at a red light. Since his truck was taller than my car and he had a tow hitch, his truck looked fine, but my car’s all scratched up. Joy.
To top it all off, I pulled out a container of tomato sauce from the freezer and heated it up to go with the tortellini for dinner, only to discover it was beef barbeque, not tomato sauce. And not very good beef barbeque I might add. That didn’t go as well as planned.
I do have video of Kaylee (for those who’ve asked) but I haven’t had time to process it — a lot of it is much longer than necessary, filled with dead air and the like, and the last thing the internet needs is another 7 minute long dog video full of nothing worth watching. Maybe this weekend. But doubtful.
Anyway, suffice it to say not much drawing has been done and I’m exhausted, grouchy, and extremely headachy. The comic won’t be overly late this weekend, but it will probably be lame.
I spent from 3:00 Friday afternoon until now (5:40 Saturday morning) working on a project for work.
Once I take a nap I’ll try to get a comic up. But the work project’s not quite where I need it to be, so it might be slightly after that.
I am tired beyond words.
I washed my bluetooth earbud thingie* for the iphone this weekend, so if you’re expecting a call from me it might be a while… the iphone’s speaker phone often leaves something to be desired… like sound quality.
Got a photo of a great sign today for y’all but too tired to post it… it’ll probably be Saturday’s comic, since I’m still fighting with the elevator scene.
Must sleep now before my legs fall off.
*note: not a good plan. do not repeat.
Ack. So tired.
Friday night:
I don’t remember Friday night except to remember that it involved pizza. I think I spent most of it working on Saturday’s comic.
Saturday:
Got up, got some stuff done on the computer to check my web stats and such (we’re currently at an all-time readership high, btw. We’re getting close to 4000 unique sites per month. Hi!) and messed with some email, etc.
Did all that shower/eat morning stuff, then went on a walk with Nighthawk. Came back and tore all the dead flowers out of the garden, cleaned up the porch for winter and stuff like that. Took a shower to get all the muck off, ate some leftover pizza for dinner, then went food shopping.
After food shopping, and putting it all away, settled in to about a half hour of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, then off to bed.
Sunday: Slept until 11:00. Got up, did all that shower/eat morning stuff, then started the pumpkin pie baking process. I think the pumpkin I bought this year was too big. I got fifteen cups of pumpkin out of the cheese pumpkin I bought a few weeks ago. That’s just over seven pies worth of pumpkin.
Made up the mix for six of the seven pies (froze the extra pumpkin for next week), and baked four of the pies. Took a dinner break over at Texas Roadhouse, came back, took two of the pies to neighbors’ houses. (Patty traded me candy for pie!!) Baked the last two pies.
Baked the pumpkin pie seeds, cleaned up the kitchen, helped Nighthawk with the laundry, and sat down to write this.
I took pictures of the entire pie process today, including the seeds, and I’m seriously considering turning them into my own cookbook. I’m weird that way.
Now, sleep.
